It was an unplanned route. The biking duo supposed to have a ride at Bacsil Ridge in San Fernando City, PH. It’s a great biking destination with moderate uphill climb. But Saturday’s downpour made the path a bit slippery and the fair weather made them cancel this route.

Instead, my sister and her biking buddy headed on to the Bypass Road at San Juan which is a connecting road that exits to the National Highway at Taboc, San Juan, La Union PH. It is part of the 22-kilometer road linking multiple towns in La Union with the objective of reducing the travel time to the Surftown a little bit. The construction is still on-going and traffic is only limited to bikers as well as early joggers. It is good to know that there is a provision for bike lanes aside from the usual cross-drainage and slope protection. Pictures taken from this site usually floods my Facebook feeds come weekend.

The captivating scene is typically rural. Vast agricultural lands on-a foot-of-mountain backdrop which is ideal trip for short rides. It is reminiscent to one of the YT videos by Danny MacAskill except for the back-breaking stunts.

Once the bypass road is completed, travel time to other towns will be eventually a bit faster.
