Luna is another gem in La Union PH which is worth visiting via bike. It is an easy ride with a flat one with no uphill climb. You will be mesmerized by the the soothing sea breeze along the way leading to the town.

My sister and her biking buddy went to a weekend biking tour within this enchanting town. It’s a 45-minute bike ride from San Fernando City via the Bacnotan-Darigayos Road. Or rather an hour for a newbie biker. The scenery along the way are Instagram-worthy. One will be delighted to stop and make a breather while enjoying the moment being there. Or maybe, you can strike a pose and flood your social media feeds with photogenic pix.

Upon reaching the town, one can visit the Baluarte Watchtower which is a fave landmark in Luna. It is a piece of history that was constructed during the Spanish colonial period and served as a lookout point for invading enemies or any incoming danger from the sea at that time. The massive stronghold endured so many era until it was damaged by a natural disaster. It snapped into two due to erosion at the base that caused an uneven settlement on the ground. However the structure was totally restored recently and it is one of iteniraries worth visiting and a great spot while in Luna.

Luna, La Union is a four-hour trip from Metro Manila via the TPLEX.  If you happen to visit Urbiztondo, San Juan which is a surfing destination, one can schedule a sidetrip to Luna.

Suit up! And bike all the way to Luna.
